A bull that mosied onto the tracks caused 45-minute delays for New York commuters Thursday morning.

The bovine was recorded walking up and down the tracks connecting Newark Penn Station in New Jersey to Penn Station in New York City.

First sightings of the wild animal came at 10.30am.

The bull was been safely captured by noon, according to ABC 7 New York.

The animal was tranquilized and taken in by a local animal sanctuary.

No injuries were reported, though some commuters were probably late to work.

Its provenance remained unknown on Thursday afternoon, with one social media user speculated that it could've come from a nearby slaughterhouse.

"The closest one afaik is near the airport station, so power to that bull if it managed to dodge its way up the tracks from there," one person tweeted.
Another wrote: "Market at all time highs, the bulls are back."
