A 67-year-old Utah woman has been labeled a "nightmare neighbor" after berating an interracial family.

Video surfaced on social media of Kathryn Smith behaving aggressively towards the family.

The incident, with an unclear timeline, showed Smith repeatedly yelling offensive slurs at the mother and using derogatory language towards the entire family. The video has gained widespread attention, sparking outrage on social media platforms.

Court documents indicate Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake had prior knowledge of Smith's behavior toward the family and intervened on two separate occasions.

The confrontation unfolded in the video as Smith, seated in a lawn chair, was approached by the discouraged mother seeking resolution. The verbal exchange escalated quickly, with Smith - referred to as a "nightmare neighbor" - using profanity and offensive language.

"Do not say s***. Please call the cops," the mother pleaded.

"Get off of my f****** property," Smith responded.

The mom then said: "Do not talk to the kids."

Smith aggressively rises from her chair, pointing her finger at the mother's face. The exchange continued with Smith hurling insults and engaging in provocative behavior, including dancing and mocking the mother.

Additional footage captured Smith driving past the family's house, shouting disturbing comments.

Attorney Tyler Ayres, representing the family, revealed the significant impact on the family's life, describing how children missed school and the family needed therapy. They moved into the neighborhood in 2019.

Marcus Stevenson, the Mayor of Midvale, expressed deep concern over the tirades the family endured, emphasizing the need for immediate action to address the situation.

As the video continues to circulate, the family plans to meet with Mayor Stevenson to discuss the matter further.
