Britney Spears shares cryptic life update and vows ‘to change’ amid Sam Asghari divorce

It looks as though Britney Spears has taken time to self-reflect this weekend.

The Princess of Pop took to Instagram on Saturday to share a cryptic post as she discussed life as a single woman.

Britney, 41, who split from her third husband in August this year, uploaded a vintage-looking snap of a nun sipping a drink from a tea cup through a straw.

Alongside the unusual picture, the noughties hitmaker wrote a lengthy caption to add some context to the snap.

"It's so weird being single… I've had a lot of time to really look back with all the good and bad…" Britney began.

She added: "I've realized I don't talk to myself that nicely at all… I'm easily manipulated and I wear my heart on my sleeve."

But the pop star insisted she was "definitely changing" that, adding: "I have to make time to stop and look around to re-evaluate myself and say is this good for me???"

Britney continued: "I like a routine and I usually do the same thing every day... l'm honestly bored but I'm also scared of a lot of things…The way I live my life is mine... I've had so many people interfere with that… But to know it’s ok to be selfish with my life and enjoy it is amazing!!!"

She said: "I will say my routine and daily affairs seem silly sometimes …"

The Toxic hitmaker then began to recall a childhood memory with her mom Lynne Spears - giving context to why she decided to use the picture of the nunn.

"My mom always used to visit the sisters at St. Mary's Catholic School… She used to go to [there] when I was younger and the nuns always gave me cookies… I liked going there because the sun was always out and it was beautiful there...

"It’s weird because I have a small garden with flowers on my balcony outside my room… When I take a picture of it the illusion is that it's connected to the trees outside… It’s pretty beautiful when the sun hits at the right spot…" Britney revealed.

"The pictures look like diamonds glistening everywhere… Every time I go out there I think of the sisters at the church I used to go to... I'm honestly not even sure why I'm writing this nonsense!!!?? Oh this picture," she concluded.

In August, Britney's ex Sam filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split - shortly after the pair cut contact unfollowing each other on Instagram.

A few months later the pop star released her groundbreaking memoir, The Woman In Me, where she dropped a series of allegations against her other ex Justin Timberlake, from him allegedly pressuring her to have an abortion to cheating claims.

But now it seems Britney has decided to put her wants and needs first as she focuses on healing after dealing with her breakup and the drama that came with it.
