The Golden Bachelor star Faith Martin has candidly opened up to fans as she continues to battle skin cancer on her face.

The Golden Bachelor: Gerry sends Faith home after tough decision

The Golden Bachelor’s Faith Martin has been remarkably open with fans following the show’s ending, where she made it to the final three but didn’t quite manage to win Gerry Turner’s affections as he proposed to Theresa Nist

Since the ABC show concluded earlier this month, Faith has taken to Instagram to keep her growing following updated on her battle against skin cancer.

Most recently, she shared a video in a candid post from a busy airport, and shared her diagnosis with her nose wrapped in bandages.

Earlier this week she underwent an operation to remove the cancer from her nose but revealed that she wasn’t entirely out of the woods yet and is set to go under the knife again soon.

The 61-year-old cautioned her fans as she sat alongside her son at a local iHop: “All I’m gonna say is this is why you need to wear sunscreen.”

Faith seemed cheery and in good spirits as she explained in the live video: “This is the first part of it then they have to go back and close it, plastics is gonna close it.

“It was skin cancer, luckily it was basal cell carcinoma.”

Basal cell carcinoma commonly appears in areas that are often exposed to the sun, like the face, but spreads very slowly and only rarely metastasizes or moves away from the area it started in.

Faith continued: “This is why I should’ve worn sunscreen my whole life. Too much riding horses in the river in the summer without any sunscreen.”

As her son tried to argue that it could have been the “chemicals in the sunscreen” that caused the cancer, his mother instantly shut down the debate saying: “I never wore sunscreen my whole life.”

The Golden Bachelor star assured fans that she felt fine and that the operation was “easy peasy” but has “no idea” how long she’ll need to keep her nose bandaged up.

The bandages made for a bit of an awkward encounter the next day, although Faith was able to make light of the moment.

She jokingly explained the situation on social media with a candid selfie saying: “You should see the OTHER Guy!! (It hurts when I laugh!)

“Being recognized in security line at airport! This is embarrassing.”
