Madonna puts on raciest display yet as Celebration Tour hits New York hours late

Madonna put on her raunchiest display yet as she kicked off the American leg of her Celebration Tour last night with a show that started nearly three hours late.

Madonna shares highlights from her European tour

Madonna returned to the States after weeks of touring Europe on her global Celebration Tour with a sensational show in New York that sparked controversy in more ways than one for her raunchiest display yet.

The 65-year-old singer arrived on stage two and a half hours late on Wednesday night but whipped the crowd into such a frenzy that they “forgave her” as soon as she appeared.

Stepping out at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Madonna stepped on stage in a lingerie-like outfit and danced alongside a seemingly younger version of herself.

While the music icon flaunted her curves in a light pink dress with black lace covering her bust and knee-high boots, one of her backup dancers symbolized her iconic 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour look, with a high blonde ponytail and a golden cone bra corset.

The dancer also sported a gimp mask in fleshy tones with cutouts highlighting her bright red lipstick and sparkling eye makeup.

The pair gave a raunchy performance on a red velvet couch as Madonna spread her legs towards the audience.

Still donning the racy ensemble, the music icon took a seat next to her daughter Mercy James as she played the piano for her superstar mother.

Later in the evening after an outfit change, the Like A Virgin singer appeared in a floor-length sheer dress with black lace gloves and ditched her short curly wig to let her blonde locks loose.

Her backup dancers matched the Grammy winner in part with black lace masks and black shorts showcasing their muscular physiques as they danced behind her.

Another costume change saw the singer returning to her controversial use of religious imagery as she reappeared with a gemstone halo encircling her head.

Madonna’s ambitious tour marks not just her fourth decade as a music icon but her New York shows in particular have a special meaning for the singer, paying homage to how her career started when she arrived in the City in 1978 with just $35 and a dream.

Madonna was slated to start her show at 8:30pm, but only managed to get to stage at 10:45 after some technical issues although a source close to the star told TMZ that she was only meant to hit the stage at 10:30 after the opening performances ended.

Despite the lengthy delay, the 65-year-old stayed until 2am according to concertgoers, belting out every note of her lengthy 45-song setlist spanning her four-decade-long career in the music industry.

While fans were frustrated by the delay, many joked that Madonna was “instantly forgiven” when she eventually arrived and dubbed it the “greatest Madonna concert ever.”

The mother-of-six has two more shows in New York and another two in Washington this month before taking a break over the festive season as the tour restarts in the new year in Boston.
