For those yearning for a white Christmas and willing to leave the comfort of their home to enjoy an idyllic, snowy landscape there is one place in the US that’s most likely to see snow this year.

Travel experts have identified ideal locations based on the likelihood of snow this holiday season, so travel lovers can book their last minute holidays.

Research conducted by the rental car company SIXT revealed that Fairbanks, Alaska, holds a 100 percent chance of experiencing snow on Christmas.

Duluth, Minnesota, follows closely with a 92.2 percent chance, and Bozeman, Montana, with 91.1 percent.

Additional locations across the US that may transform into a wintry wonderland include Marquette, Michigan (88.2 percent) and Caribou, Maine (87.2 percent).

Also on the list were Idaho Falls, Idaho (80.1 percent), Fargo, North Dakota (77.6 percent), Eau Claire, Wisconsin (72.3 percent), and Burlington, Vermont (62.3 percent).

Fairbanks, often referred to as the Golden Heart of Alaska, is situated at 65 degrees north latitude, making it an ideal destination for those seeking the mesmerizing Northern Lights, especially for first-time observers.

The city is easily accessible and provides a range of accommodations, restaurants, and distinctive attractions.

But what sets Fairbanks apart is its proximity to excellent northern lights viewing locations, with the ability to step outside the city within minutes to witness this natural spectacle.

Local experts suggest that on clear evenings with a very dark sky, individuals should be able to observe the spectacle lighting up the skies on an average of four out of five nights in Fairbanks.
