First look inside the $3.7 billion Vegas resort that has been 23 years in the making

The long-awaited, mega Fontainebleau Las Vegas is just months away from opening.

A $3.7 billion in Vegas is opening in December has been 23 years in the making.

The Fontainebleau Las Vegas resort has cost an enormous sum, and it will stand in a league of its own when it opens.

The built by real estate mogul Jeffrey Soffer, will be the tallest on the strip. On December 13, Justin Timberlake is lined up to perform at the hotel to celebrate its opening.

The resort will have 3,644 rooms, seven pools, an incredible 36 restaurants and bars, and stand at 67 stories tall. A private club on the top floor will treat members to million-dollar views across the city. 

As this is Vegas, it will of course have a gaming area that will stretch across 150,000 square feet.

“This building represents a remarkable new chapter in our storied legacy and will be a beacon for those seeking to indulge in the unforgettable,” Fontainebleau Development Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Soffer said in a statement. 

“With Fontainebleau Las Vegas, we have transcended aspiration and set the stage for a new era of luxury hospitality defined by innovation, sophistication, and opulence, with an inextricable link to our roots at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach ”.

The rooms (which are already on sale) start at around $300 per night and have a blue, silver, and pale blue color theme.

There will be lavish furnishings such as silver-grey wood veneer, silver leaf, and Arabescato marble. Carpets will feature a linear pattern in shades of blue. 

Of the 36 dining options, many of the restaurants will be fronted by award-winning chefs and restauranteurs and will include everything from Michelin-starred dining to Japanese sushi bars.

Ladies who lunch will love La Fontaine, a glamorous, light salon for Champagne brunch, and business deals will undoubtedly be done in the sophisticated Don's Prime, a steakhouse with round tables and low lighting. 

There will be wood-fired favorites at the popular Miami-based, Kyu restaurant to French Mediterranean bites at La Cote.
