This is the moment stunned shoppers in Israel witnessed a Hamas rocket crash through their supermarket.

The video offers a stark insight into the daily peril of living around intense shelling.

Separate footage from the Gaza Strip, shows the Iron Dome intercepting projectiles over Ashdod - located just south of Tel Aviv and west of Jerusalem.

The sizable fragment of one intercepted rocket landed in the Ashdod supermarket moments later.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported today that Hamas has launched at least 116 rockets from the al-Mawasi designated "humanitarian zone" in southern Gaza towards Israel.

Of these, 38 projectiles fell short within the Strip, according to the IDF.

The IDF stated in a release: "Hamas continues to use the humanitarian zone to carry out terrorist activities, further endangering the lives of civilians in Gaza and the State of Israel."

The al-Mawasi humanitarian zone, established by the IDF on October 18, is meant to serve as a safe area for civilians within the Gaza Strip, providing shelter and aid.

Customers and employees swiftly sought refuge in a bomb shelter, ensuring their safety with no injuries reported in the incident.

A woman received treatment for an acute anxiety attack.

Avi Nisim, the CEO and owner of the supermarket told Israeli media: "This is our Hanukkah miracle that despite the direct fall no one was hurt, the darkness is dispelled with light, and therefore I immediately ordered the damage to be repaired on the spot so that the branch can return to full activity as soon as possible."

The Iron Dome, an advanced Israeli defense system, intercepts short-range rockets and artillery shells to protect civilians and critical areas.

Using radar, it detects and destroys incoming threats, significantly minimizing the impact of hostile attacks and enhancing regional security.
