Meghan Markle has been warned not to ditch Omid Scobie after his new book Endgame slammed members of the Royal Family.

Endgame was hugely critical of several members of the Royal Family but, more controversially, a Dutch version of the book named two members of the Firm as those who discussed the potential skin color of Prince Archie before he was born.

dropped the bombshell allegation that a senior royal discussed the Prince's potential skin color during a bombshell 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview.

A version of Endgame, translated into Dutch, named two senior royals as those who had the discussions. The Sussexes have so far been mute on the issue and Mr Scobie claims he never named any royal in the transcript sent to publishers.

While the Sussexes are now facing calls to break their silence on the row, Meghan has been warned not to ditch Omid Scobie who has been seen as close to the Duke and Duchess following the publication of his first book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern .

Royal expert Jack Royston said: "They can't burn Omid. If they burn Omid then it feeds into the narrative that Meghan ditches people at the drop of a hat."

Mr Royston said, however, that the Sussexes do have options to walk back Meghan's previous comments on Oprah.

Speaking on Talk TV, he added: "[Meghan and Harry] could clarify definitively. It really sounds like - from Harry's comments in January - that he actually does not believe it was concern that he believes it was curiosity."

Surrounding the release of Spare, Prince Harry did a series of interviews promoting the tell-all memoir. During an interview with ITV's Tom Bradby in January, the Duke of Sussex said he wouldn't describe the alleged comments made by a member of his family as racist.

Prince Harry said: "Did Meghan ever mention that they’re racist?"

When pressed by Bradby, Harry said: "There was - there was concern about his skin colour."

Bradby then asked: "Right, wouldn’t you describe that as essentially racist?" To which Harry responded: "I wouldn’t, not having lived within that family."

The Duke of Sussex went on to outline his beliefs on the difference "between racism and unconscious bias".

Citing this exchange, Mr Royston added: "What [the Sussexes] could do is come out and confirm that Meghan's use of the word 'concern' was perhaps not the best choice of words and perhaps switch it to curiosity."
