Meghan Markle finally 'enjoying herself' as she preps for sensational Hollywood comeback

Meghan Markle beamed on the red carpet last week for Variety's Power of Women awards and teased "new projects" which has led some royal experts to speculate the Duchess is gunning for a comeback.

Meghan Markle beamed at a red carpet event thrown by Variety leading some to speculate that she was aiming for a return to Hollywood.

The appeared to be enjoying her time in the limelight - she worked the cameras at the A-list event wearing an off-the-shoulder Proenza Schouler dress with £720 Aquazzura heels paired with a slicked bun until an aide ushered her down the red carpet.

Speaking to a journalist at the event, Meghan then teased "exciting" new projects that she was on sparking speculation that the Duchess could be planning a return to showbiz. Her appearance without even led to speculation that the Duchess might return to Hollywood without including her husband.

Meghan was a star in the hit TV show Suits but gave up acting when she . The Duchess returned to the small screen, however, in Netflix's Harry & Meghan, a docuseries about the Sussexes which she also helped produce. One royal expert said that the Duchess appeared to be back in her element on the red carpet.

Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russell Myers said: "I think Meghan and Harry have taken themselves too seriously for a long time and Meghan, we saw her out on the red carpet…and she seems to be enjoying herself a bit more."

Speaking on Sky News, he added: "She was pretty relaxed, they were asking her questions about her Thanksgiving coming up, asking her questions about the projects in the pipeline and she says there’s a lot in the pipeline, 'we’re excited, we’re working on things'."

Mr Myers said the Sussexes appeared to be finding their "groove" after several years of turmoil within the Royal Family culminating with the release of Prince Harry's tell-all memoir Spare earlier this year.

He added: "I think…that there will be a period where [Harry and Meghan] sort of find their groove because the mudslinging has been constant over the last few years.

"If Harry and Meghan do want a relationship with the Royal Family then it’s definitely not going to be down that path and so let's wait and see what happens for them; I do think that next year is going to be a big year for both sides of the family."

The news comes amid a potential thawing in relations between the Sussexes and King Charles. The couple is said to have called the monarch on his 75th birthday while Meghan reportedly showed the King a video of his grandchildren - Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, singing him Happy Birthday.

Meghan and Harry split with the Royal Family in 2020 moving their family to Montecito, California close to Los Angeles where the Duchess grew up.
