Beverly Hills Cop reboot finally gets a trailer as Eddie Murphy returns as Axel
The first look at Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F has stirred a frenzy among fans as Eddie Murphy makes a triumphant return with the "old gang back together again."

The Beverly Hills Cop franchise is back nearly four decades since a then 22-year-old Eddie Murphy first took up the role of rogue detective Axel Foley.
Now, in a whole new century, fans are getting their first peek at Beverly Hills Cop: Alex F, the fourth installment in the franchise that comes a full 30 years since the third movie.
Netflix dropped the new trailer earlier today, revealing Eddie isn’t the only star making a return as fan favorites Judge Reinhold (Billy Rosewood), John Ashton (John Taggart), and Bronson Pinchot (Serge) are also heading back to the precinct.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans celebrated the reunion writing: “The old gang is back,” and “I grew up with movies from the 80's and the 90's. Seeing Eddie Murphy coming back as Axel in Beverly Hills Cop makes me feel so emotional!”
Another jokingly added: “Please explain why everyone else is old in this movie, but Eddie Murphy did not age one day since Beverly Hills Cop (I)?”

For the new installment, the streaming giant has revealed that Detective Axel will be returning to his Beverly Hills beat after his daughter, Jane’s, life is threatened as he teams up with old and new partners to uncover a conspiracy.
The clip has delivered the same gut-wrenching action fans have come to expect from the series with the Hollywood star's notorious humor sneaking in with a few quick quips as the detective explores the new streets of Beverly Hills, now crowded with influencers.
Much to fans’ delight, it seems the iconic '80’s style music has made the cut too, with the legendary synth riff rolling in the background throughout the trailer, merged with some more modern tunes.

However, not everyone was overjoyed at the news with some fearful fans pointing out that Beverly Hills Cop 3 didn’t get the best audience reception: “I hope it’s good because Beverly Hills Cop 3 was a disaster.”
One argued that Netflix should “let sleeping dogs lie,” while some others took issue with the fact that no release date has been announced, with the trailer revealing the movie is expected sometime during next summer.
Others theorized that if Beverly Hills Cop could make a comeback, Netflix bosses should be turning their attention to other beloved franchises from the era such as Ace Ventura.
