Missing baby Zeke Best found dead in Idaho after dad 'abducted him and killed mom'

Baby Zeke Gregory Best was found dead shortly before cops arrested his father Jeremy Albert Best in connection with his death.

A baby boy who was reported missing after his dad allegedly kidnapped him, has been found dead following a 36-hour search.

The prime suspect is his father Jeremy Albert Best, 48, who was arrested after being spotted 'naked and making odd statements,' according to cops.

Cops first sent out an amber alert for baby Zeke Gregory Best as his pregnant mom was found dead at her home in Victor, .

Speaking about the arrest of Jeremy Best, the Bonneville County Sheriff's office said: "A caller stated the man was naked and making odd statements.

"Sheriff's deputies contacted the individuals and identified the man as Jeremy Albert Best, who was wanted for homicide.

"Best was secured and placed in a patrol car until ambulance personnel arrived to treat him for any injuries."

They added: "Near the area where Best was located, deputies located his vehicle, a black Chevy SUV, down an embankment off the roadway.

"Deputies also located a child, Zeke Best, deceased at the scene."

The cause of baby Zeke's death is yet to be revealed. The sheriff's statement added: "At this time Bonneville County Detectives, Idaho State Police, and the Teton County Sheriff's Office are processing the scene and continuing to investigate.

"Idaho Falls Police Detectives and agents from the FBI are also assisting at the scene."

"After a medical clearance, Mr Best was transported to the Bonneville County Jail and booked for the outstanding Warrant.

"Best will remain incarcerated until arraignment before the court. Our thoughts are with the family of the victims involved in this case.

"Further information about this case will be available at an appropriate time in the future as the investigation is still ongoing."
