Zach Bryan, 27, has broken his silence on social media since he was arrested in his hometown of Oklahoma this week.

The country singer "was arrested in Vinita on Thursday night for obstruction of investigation", as reported by CNN.

Oklahoma law reads this offense as: "Someone who willfully delays or obstructs any public officer in the discharge or attempt to discharge any duty of his or her office."

Zach has since shared an apology, admitting his child-like response and sharing sadness for his actions.

He said on Instagram: "Today I had an incident with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Emotions got the best of me and I was out of line with the things I said.

"I support law enforcement as much as anyone can, I was just frustrated at the moment, it was unlike me and I apologize.

"I want to start with the legalities of it - I went to jail, they didn't play favorites.

"I was an idiot today. My decisions did not reflect who I am as a person and I just want to make that clear. I should have been smarter about it."

He then added that he had gotten "too lippy" with the cop and he "felt like a child", justifying his actions.

He continued: "It was ridiculous, it was immature and I pray everyone knows I don't think I'm above the law.

"I was being disrespectful and I shouldn't have been. It was my mistake.

"They brought me to jail, and there is a mugshot of me floating around.

"Prayers, we can all move on from this and prayers people know I’m just trying the best I can, I love you guys and I am truly sorry to the officers."

Zach's career began in 2017 after videos of him singing went viral over social media.

With the help of some of his Navy pals, he released his debut album DeAnn, named after his late mother in 2019.

Since then the country singer has been making music nonstop and was even awarded New Male Artist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music.

He recently released his fourth full-length studio album, titled Zach Byan featuring collaborations with The Lumineers, Sierra Ferrell, and The War and Treaty.
