Two Israeli soldiers were injured after a car rammed into a checkpoint in the West Bank on Thursday.

The attack happened at a border crossing near the Israeli settlement of Moshav Beka'ot in the Jordan Valley area.

The servicemen were lightly injured and taken to the hospital, according to the IDF. The attacker was killed at the scene.

It came hours after two Palestinian brothers opened fire at a busy bus stop in Jerusalem, killing three.

Hamas has claimed responsibility for that attack, calling for "an escalation of the resistance."

Thursday's border attack also came right after Israel and Hamas agreed to extend their ceasefire into a seventh day amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, which was set off by a Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7 that killed 1,200 people.

Since then, Israel has killed more than 13,000 Palestinians in what UN experts call a "genocide in the making."

The Israeli army is still searching the checkpoint area for additional suspects, i24 News reports.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, meanwhile, has called for Israel to keep West Bank extremists in check after an Israeli army incursion killed two young Palestinian boys aged eight and 14 on Wednesday.

Blinken said Israel must take "immediate steps to hold Jewish settler extremists accountable" for violence against Palestinians.

But skirmishes between Israelis and Palestinians have seen an uptick since then.

Video of Thursday's bus stop attack, which happened before the border ramming, captures a silver hatchback coming to an abrupt stop at the Givat Shaul junction on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

Two men climb out. Within seconds, both brandish guns and begin shooting into a crowd.

The shooters, confirmed as brothers in their 30s from occupied East Jerusalem, were killed at the scene by off-duty IDF soldiers and a civilian.
