Wells Fargo is closing down yet another bank branch as it changes the way it does operations.

A location in California is among the latest of the bank’s sites to join the ever-growing list of closures.

Specifically, the Redondo Beach branch at 301 S, Pacific Coast Highway in the sunny coastal state will cease in-person business.

This particular branch will be shut down as soon as next week from September 13, 2023 at 11am.

Various banks, including PNC Bank and Bank of America, have joined Wells Fargo in shutting down sites.

This is part of a growing trend following the COVID-19 pandemic where financial institutions have opted to digitize their operations.

Despite its recent decision, Wells Fargo has reiterated its commitment to in-person branches in certain areas.

At the same time, the bank reminded customers of the benefits provided by operations being moved online.

Speaking to The Sun, a Wells Fargo spokesperson said: "Branches continue to play an important role in the way we serve our customers, and customers continue to value the experiences they have in our branches.

“Additionally, customers use our wide range of digital capabilities for many of their banking needs and, as a result, more transactions are happening outside the branch.

“As customer preferences and transaction patterns change, so will our branches and the experiences customers have in them."

"Wells Fargo has made the difficult decision to close the branch located at 301 S. Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo Beach. The Redondo Beach branch will close on Wednesday, September 13 at 11 a.m.”
