Vivek Ramaswamy has been slammed after he spouted several debunked conspiracy theories during the fourth debate on Wednesday night.

One such conspiracy theory popular in the Donald Trump MAGA camp is that January 6 was a so-called inside job.

The debunked theory claims that FBI agents were placed into the crowd that stormed the Capitol complex as agitators causing the January 6 riot.

During the debate, said: "Why am I the only person on this stage, at least, who can say that January 6 now does look like it was an inside job?"

He then listed off other theories popular in conspiracy circles, to which the largely conservative crowd cheered. He said: "That the government lied to us for 20 years about Saudi Arabia's involvement in 9/11?

"That the great replacement theory is not some grand right-wing conspiracy theory, but a basic statement of the Democratic Party's platform? That the 2020 election was indeed stolen by Big Tech?"

Following the debate, fact-checkers slammed the candidate who is running as a long-shot for the 2024 Republican Presidential Nominee.

CNN's Pamela Brown said: "This is a flat-out lie that is detached from reality and unsupported by concrete evidence. This false and self-serving narrative from Trump supporters came about in the summer of 2021 from right-wing news outlets claiming the US Government orchestrated the US Capitol attack and sent undercover FBI agents to trigger violence as a way to frame Trump.

"FBI Director Christopher Wray - a lifelong Republican appointed by former president Trump - has repeatedly rejected that claim and it is worth remembering about 850 rioters have been convicted of crimes stemming from January 6, according to the Justice Department, most of them pleaded guilty...none of the people convicted were active FBI agents."

Ramaswamy's conspiracy theory-laden rhetoric wasn't the only move that caused an uproar. The tech billionaire also lashed out at rival Nikki Haley, who has been rising in the polls.

During the debate, Ramaswamy savaged Haley by holding up a sign that read: "Nikki=Corrupt."

Attacking her work in the military contracting sector as UN Ambassador, he said: "I don’t have a woman problem. You have a corruption problem and I think that that's what people need to know. Nikki is corrupt."

He added: "This is a woman who will send your kids to die so she can buy a bigger house."

Haley refused to respond to the claims saying it wasn't "worth my time".

The harsh rhetoric from Ramaswamy set off a firestorm on social media with some slamming the Republican candidate's antics while others praised the moment as a highlight of the debate.
