A 71-year-old pilot has died after his helicopter crashed into a river in Argentina.

The crash was captured in a viral video that circulated widely on social media, showing the helicopter flying very close to the surface before plummeting into the water.

The pilot was identified as businessman Gustavo Degliantoni.

Three other passengers, all elderly individuals ranging from 63 to 76 years old, were on board and sustained injuries.

Eyewitnesses at the Paraná River became alarmed when they observed the red Robinson 55 helicopter engaging in perilous maneuvers.

The aircraft flew dangerously close to boats in the area at a low altitude, putting lives at risk.

Emergency services, police, and firefighters swiftly responded to the scene, launching a rescue operation. Two of the passengers managed to reach the coast on their own, while the third was successfully rescued. Unfortunately, Degliantoni could not be saved and succumbed in the water.

This tragic incident marks the second serious air accident in Argentina this month. Just two weeks ago, another plane crash claimed the lives of two pilots at a festival.

Degliantoni, the victim of the helicopter crash over the Paraná River, was not only a successful businessman but also a former Turismo Carretera driver.

Turismo Carretera is a popular and historic touring car racing series in Argentina, known for its fiercely competitive races featuring modified production cars.

Established in 1937, the championship has become a cornerstone of Argentine motorsport, attracting a dedicated fan base and showcasing the country's racing talent.

On Twitter, some criticized those who recorded the video instead of apparently trying to help the crash victims.
