Ex-Trump lackeys vow 'tyrannical' revenge on 'deep state' and media in 2025

On Steve Bannon's podcast, former national security staffer Kash Patel said: "This is why we're tyrannical."

Two ex-Donald Trump associates are vowing to avenge the former president should he win in 2024.

On his podcast War Room, former Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon promised "serious prosecutions and accountability" against what he called the "deep state" on Tuesday.

The threats come as Trump is facing four criminal inquiries in various jurisdictions related to the mishandling of classified documents, election fraud and business fraud.

Former national security staffer Kash Patel chimed in, promising to go after Trump's detractors.

"We will go out and find the conspirators, not just in government but in the media," Patel said. "Yes, we're going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections."

The term "deep state" is used by the far-right to describe a network of shadowy beurocrats secretly running the government.

And it seems that Bannon and Patel are still big believers in the conspiracy.

"This is just not rhetoric," Bannon said, according to footage posted by Media Matters. "We're absolutely dead serious. We're not - you cannot have a constitutional republic and allow what these deep staters have done to the country."

Patel, a longtime Trump loyalist, went as far as claiming that team Trump already has "the bench" figured out for positions at the CIA and the Department of Defense.

"This is why we're tyrannical. This is why we're dictators," Patel continued. "Because we're actually going to use the Constitution to prosecute them for crimes they said we have always been guilty of but never have."

Such a promise could only be delivered if Trump wins again. And if both Trump and Bannon mangage to stay out of prison.

Bannon's upcoming trial, for a "We Build the Wall" scheme that saw him embezzle hundreds of thousands of dollars after raising $25 million in donations for a wall along the southern border, is set for next year.

Meanwhile, Trump's New York civil fraud case, for falsifying documents to pay off porn star Stormy Daniels, is currently on trial.
