Trevor Lawrence's wife Marissa has revealed thanked Jacksonville Jaguars for their empathetic messages following her husband's recent injury. The quarterback picked up a high-ankle sprain during his team's 34-31 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13.

The one-time Pro Bowler sustained the knock during thethe fourth quarter of the clash after Cincinnati offensive lineman Walker Little stood on his leg. The 23-year-old QB winced in pain after the incident and could be seen striking the ground, leaving fans fearing for the worst over the extent of the injury.

Their concerns were made worse when Lawrence required the help of two trainers to leave the field, before he headed down the tunnel to be evaluated. However, he did eventually emerge on Wednesday without the aid of a walking boot, to allay fears that he would be facing an extended spell on the sidelines.

Now, his wife of two years Marissa has revealed her gratitude towards the Jaguars' fanbase for their unwavering support for her loved one. Taking to Instagram, she posted a screenshot of the messages sent to her by Jacksonville's ardent followers, with the caption: "Really overwhelmed by people's kindness and love.

She continued, saying: "Just wanted to share something positive and thank everyone truly for your prayers and support, grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing people."

Likewise, Lawrence himself was grateful for the support as he took to his Twitter/X account in the aftermath of his injury. "Thanks to everyone for the prayers and everyone that reached out, he said before adding:"It is much appreciated."

As he addressed the media in the wake of his ankle strain, he admitted that the injury is not as bad as first feared. He said: "I'm thankful it's not a worse injury than what I thought on the field," before clarifying that he could be back available sooner rather than later: "If I can be out there and be myself for the most part, then I'm going to be out there."

He was left all too aware, however, that the injury could have been a lot worse, as he expressed his relief that he had escaped a more severe issue. Reflecting on the incident involving Little, he confessed: "It's a freak thing. If I'm 6 inches to the left or right, it doesn't happen."

Jacksonville head coach Doug Pederson was quick to affirm that his star's fitness will continue to be monitored ahead of the team's Week 14 clash with the Cleveland Browns. After Lawrence was unable to return to Monday night's game, he added: "We have to weather this storm, so to speak."

While the QB was able to meet the media just a couple of days after sustaining his injury, it is understood that he was not able to train on Wednesday.
