Taylor Swift ignores snow and wintry weather to cheer on Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been blessed by the presence of his partner and pop icon Taylor Swift - despite the freezing conditions at Lambeau Field. The Chiefs travel to face the Green Bay Packers in Week 13 and, with Swift in attendance, Kelce will want to impress.

The Packers and Chiefs woke up on Sunday morning to a blanket of show covering Northeastern Wisconsin. While up to four inches could fall ahead of the game, the weather is not expected to be a factor by the time Sunday Night Football kicks off.

The turf at Lambeau Field should be ready to go too after it was covered in anticipation of the cold weather. Once the tarp is removed, the Frozen Tundra likely won’t be frozen - and fans in attendance will hope the action on the field will heat up the 80,000-plus in attendance.

With her Eras tour on break until the end of 2024, many expected Swift to appear at Chiefs games during the home stretch of the regular season. On Friday, when asked if Swift was expected to travel to Wisconsin to attend the game, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said: “Is she supposed to be here? That's what I've heard.

“We're definitely more focused on the game, but I'm sure there will be some fired-up people in the stands if she shows up.”

While LaFleur is adament the celebrity appearance will not impact the Packers’ focus, her presence undoubtedly affects Kelce’s performances on the field. His playing ability sharply improves when Swift is watching from stands, and he takes on such a starring role that her game plans are kept a secret to avoid skewing betting odds.

Swift has not been able to support Kelce in person recently due to her international tour in South America. Her impact is profound; when she's at games, the Chiefs are undefeated and Kelce has 34 catches for 432 yards, averaging 108 yards per game, while scoring two touchdowns.

In six games without Swift in attendance, Kelce has tallied 36 catches for 300 yards, averaging 50 yards per game along with three touchdowns. Kelce’s four lowest receiving yard totals of the season have come without Swift watching on, and he is yet to surpass 100 yards receiving in such games.

When she does turn up to watch, Swift has regularly enjoyed the company of Kelce’s mother Donna as well as Brittany Mahomes, the wife of two-time MVP and Chiefs quarterback Patrick. The Grammy winner has also brought a throng of celebrity pals, too.

Sunday’s clash represents Mahomes’ first trip to the iconic Lambeau Field, and he is looking to claim a crucial win as the Chiefs continue to pursue the AFC top seed. The 8-3 Chiefs lead the AFC West, while the 5-6 Packers are on a two-game winning streak and currently sit third in the NFC North.
