Taylor Swift called Travis Kelce's 'wife' at NFL game after marriage rumors

Taylor Swift hasn't said "I do" yet but it didn't stop NFL commentator Tony Romo from calling her Travis Kelce's "wife" during the latest Kansas City Chiefs game.

Taylor Swift was referred to as Travis Kelce's "wife" by NFL commentator Tony Romo during Sunday's game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills. Swift, 33, and Kelce, 34, have been dating for several months, with the couple initially going public in late September, with the superstar singer showing up at Arrowhead for the win over the Chicago Bears.

Kelce and Swift have gone from strength to strength. The Chiefs legend has moved into a new Kansas City mansion for more privacy and also spent some of his bye week at one of Swift's shows in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Swift, meanwhile, has attended six of Kelce's games, one of which ended in a loss, last weekend to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

But during Sunday's broadcast of the Chiefs vs. Bills at Arrowhead, NFL commentator Romo referred to Swift, who was in attendance, as Kelce's wife. His fellow commentator Jim Nantz quickly corrected him and jokingly replied "not yet" as he made the remark as Swift celebrated a big catch from her partner in the second quarter.

The commentator may have jumped the gun after rumors that Kelce is gearing up to propose, potentially next week as a birthday surprise for Swift. A report in Life and Style quoted an insider as saying: "Travis has something special planned.

"He's arranged a very intimate romantic dinner just for the two of them, and is also trying to pull off a semi-surprise party with the help of some of her closest friends. There are whispers that he could use the opportunity to propose — that's what everyone, including Taylor, is hoping for!"

While September to December doesn't seem like a long time, Swift and Kelce were hanging out long before officially going public. "This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift recently told Time Magazine. "We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

Swift made one thing crystal clear, though: She enjoys supporting Kelce, who has given her a proper introduction to football. "I’m just there to support Travis," she added.

"I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and p*****g off a few dads, Brads, and Chads. Football is awesome, it turns out. I’ve been missing out my whole life.”

In a plush box at Arrowhead, Swift was joined by a family member as she was filmed introducing someone to her cousin. Footage circulated on social media, and she was later pictured with WWE superstar Baron Corbin in the luxury suite where she sat next to Travis's mom, Donna, to watch the game.
