Taylor Swift slams bisexuality speculation on 1989 Taylor’s Version as dating ‘weaponised'
Shake It Off singer Taylor Swift has seemingly addressed the rumors and speculation surrounding her sexuality on her new album.
Taylor Swift has seemingly hit back at rumors surrounding her sexuality after fan speculation she's had romances with female friends.
Addressing the fervent speculation about her supposed sapphic romances, Taylor, 33, sent out a strongly worded message on the prologue to her newly released album 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which has left fans in meltdown.
A screenshot shared on X, formerly Twitter, read: “It became clear to me that for me there was no such thing as casual dating.
“Or even having a male friend who you platonically hang out with.

“If I was seen with him, it was assumed I was sleeping with him.”
She continued: “And so I swore off hanging out with guys, dating, flirting, or anything that could be weaponized against me by a culture that claimed to believe in liberating women but consistently treated me with the harsh moral codes of the Victorian era.
“Being a consummate optimist, I assumed I could fix this if I simply changed my behavior.

“I swore off dating and decided to focus only on myself, my music, my growth, and my female friendships.
“If I only hung out with my female friends people couldn’t sensationalize or sexualize that right?”
Concluding: “I would learn later on that people could and people would.”
The prologue appears to suggest Taylor was lashing out at the speculation about her dating either men or women regardless of whom she spent time with publicly.
Among the female friends Taylor was said to have had romances with included model Karlie Kloss and Glee star Dianna Agron.
Taylor has now had the world on tenterhooks with her romance with NFL star Travis Kelce after her brief relationship with Matt Healy.
She also recently teased lyrics from 1989 which some believe could be referencing Travis.
