Sydney Sweeney is returning to big screens alongside Glen Powell but not all viewers were pleased with the trailer.

Anyone But You: Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell star in trailer

After bursting into the spotlight as Cassie Howard on HBO’s Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney will star in the upcoming romantic comedy, Anyone But You.

Following months of anticipation, the steamy trailer was released but many viewers had the same complaint.

Although the teaser made it clear Sweeney’s character Bea and Ben (played by Glen Powell) had to fake their relationship, fans struggled to figure out why.

The premise read: “Two people who despise one another can't seem to get away from the other while they vacation in Sydney.”

While others looked forward to its release, many took to social media with confusion including @JamRyder22 who wrote: “Nothing about this trailer gives rom-com.”

@millionsofmarks2266 complained: “Let me guess. They hate each other at first, they have to do something together and then fall in love in the end. Isn't this formula overused?”

A third viewer @ohhieverybody added: “Rom com? This trailer makes it look like it's Fifty f***ing Shades.”

While @svngjn questioned: “I know trailers these days reveal too much, but a little more context pls.”

Despite the confusion, an excited @MovieLoverAlwa1 posted: “Huge sucker for Rom Coms so a huge yes for me.”

As @Hungry-Waiting-To-Eat-Your agreed: “This movie looks so good! I’m definitely gonna watch it.”

Throughout the trailer, the duo struggles to fake their romance after Bea suggests: “Let’s just tell everyone we’re together, it could be kind of fun.”

To which Ben disputes: “There’s no way we can convince anyone we actually like each other.”

Tensions between the pair are clear as Bea shrugs off his hand which was resting on her shoulder and they quickly stop holding hands as they leave a social gathering.

Trying to convince Ben, Bea could be heard saying: “Trust me, we’re at a wedding a million miles away from home, who knows what could happen.”

However, the pair may seemingly get close as they share an intimate dance and get close during the wedding.

When it looked as though they were going to share a kiss, Bea interrupted the sizzling moment by punching his manhood.

While Ben winced in pain, she quipped: “Convincing enough?” and walked away.
