Sydney Sweeney’s family ‘walked out’ of Euphoria star’s steamy sex scenes
Actress Sydney Sweeney is on her way to becoming a major star on the big screen but landed her breakout role playing Cassie Howard in HBO's controversial teen drama.

Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney revealed her dad and grandfather had to stop and walk out when they first watched the show.
Although her mom was already aware of Sweeney’s frequent nude scenes, the 25-year-old actress didn’t prepare the rest of the family for the series’ explicit content.
“My mom visited me on set quite a few times, so she knew the story,” she explained.
“My dad didn’t. I didn't prepare my dad at all. … So he decided he was going to watch it without telling me, with his parents.”
While her dad and grandfather “walked out” during the episode, her grandmother apparently wasn’t phased.

“She’s a big fan of mine,” she told Sunday Today. “I bring her all over the world to my different sets and I make her an extra.”
Despite stirring up controversy for its depiction of sex and violence, Euphoria has become one of HBO’s most popular shows in recent years.
Spider-Man star Zendaya heads up the cast, which also includes Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud and Hunter Schafer.
Sweeney portrays Cassie, one of the drama’s many troubled teens who starts a toxic affair with Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), the on-off boyfriend of her best friend Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie).

The series has had a huge impact on young viewers, but may not return for a third season until 2025.
“She’s a beautiful, broken character,” Sweeney said of Cassie.
“I love playing Cassie, especially last season because she was so crazy. As an actor, that’s just so much fun to kind of stretch your legs and play characters that go insane and do all these crazy choices.
“I'm really looking forward to seeing what Cassie does [in] season three.”
The writers’ strike and Sam Levinson’s work on his new series, The Idol, have meant production on the third season has been considerably delayed.
Other hit shows in HBO’s repertoire, such as The Last of Us and White Lotus, are also on hold.
Outside of Euphoria, Sweeney recently portrayed real-life intelligence leaker Reality Winner in Tina Satter’s acclaimed interrogation drama Reality.
She’ll next be seen opposite Glen Powell in the upcoming rom-com Anyone But You and will make her Marvel debut as Julia Carpenter/Spider-Woman in Madame Web.
Euphoria is available to stream on HBO Max.
