Starbucks celebrates Christmas by offering half off drinks every Thursday this December

There is nothing better than a good bargain at Christmas, and Starbucks will offer a huge discount to help you feel merry and caffeinated this holiday season. 

Coffee lovers will be able to get 50 percent off any drink every Thursday this December through the Starbucks app, also called the Starbucks Reward System which you can sign up for here. 

Customers simply have to flash the coupon from their phone to their barista in any Starbucks store to take advantage of this discount. 

Starbucks is offering this deal as part of their ‘Festive ThursYay’ promotion and you will be able to buy a discounted beverage every Thursday between 12pm and 6pm. 

This promotion will kick off on December 7 and will be available on December 14, December 21 and December 28 for customers.

All Starbucks drinks will be eligible as part of the promotion, but it is the perfect opportunity to take a sip of Starbucks' new Christmas beverages to help warm you up this winter. 

The coffee chain has introduced the Gingerbread Oat Milk Chai this year which is available both as a iced or hot beverage.

On the Starbucks website, they describe the drink as combining “warm gingerbread notes, a cozy blend of chai spices, and creamy oat milk to create a cold holiday beverage that is perfectly balanced by the comforting flavors of the season.” 

Making a comeback this year are fan-favorites such as the Caramel Brulee Latte, Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte, and the Chestnut Praline Latte as well as the Peppermint Mocha which comes in iced, hot or as a frappuccino blend.

This is an espresso combined with steamed milk, mocha sauce, and peppermint-flavored syrup which has been topped with whipped cream and dark chocolate shreddings.  

Starbucks’ big discount also gives customers more opportunities to collect the coffee chain’s iconic red holiday cups, and this year’s theme is ‘Share the Joy.’ 

The coffee chain will have four different holiday coffee cups to choose from, but for the first time, Starbucks has also added bright pink to the Christmas design. 

Certain cups will only be available depending on the drink ordered, such as the swirl design, which will only be available when purchasing a Peppermint Mocha. 

The other design includes a plaid patterned cup to imitate a plaid scarf, a geometric patterned bauble wrap pattern as well as a ribbon patterned cup, designed to both look like a wrapped gift.
