Simone Biles upstages Taylor Swift by battling cold temperatures for show of affection
The Green Bay Packers enjoyed a night to remember, downing the Kansas City Chiefs at Lambeau Field on Sunday, and Olympic legend Simone Biles played her part
Taylor Swift may be the darling of the Kansas City Chiefs fanbase since she started dating Travis Kelce, but the Green Bay Packers have got a new queen of their own in U.S. Olympic hero Simone Biles. The seven-time Olympic medallist was at Lambeau Field on Sunday night to support her husband, Jonathan Owens.

And it was a night to remember for the newlyweds, who tied the knot at a lavish waterfront ceremony in Cabo San Lucas earlier this year, with Owens and the Packers claiming a highly impressive win over the reigning Super Bowl champions to do their hopes of making the playoffs the world of good.
Swift attracted plenty of airtime as she shared a suite with Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany, sheltering from the cold, but the “Cruel Summer” songstress was upstaged by gymnastics icon Biles in the eyes of Packers fans. While Swift was hiding from the elements as she watched Kelce produce an impressive performance despite suffering a 27-19 defeat, Biles braved the freezing-cold temperatures to share a kiss with her husband before kickoff.
The 26-year-old also received a huge cheer as she waved to the camera wearing a custom No. 34 Packers jacket – a nod to Owens’ jersey number – while on the big screen in the stadium, and many fans had come with signs showing their appreciation for four-time Olympic gold medalist.

“We’re not here to see Taylor, we wanna see Simone!” read one placard, while another was emblazoned with “Shake It Off Green Bay, we have Simone Biles,” referencing Swift’s 2014 chart-topping hit.
Defensive back Owens led his team with five tackles as the Packers rearguard contained Mahomes and the Chiefs’ passing attack for large parts of the contest in Wisconsin, continuing his good form since making the move north this season.
The 28-year-old was undrafted when he entered the NFL in 2018, landing with the Arizona Cardinals in training camp. But he spent the entirety of his rookie year on injured reserve, and he was left without a team on the eve of the 2019 season when he was released.
A few weeks down the line, Owens was signed to the Houston Texans practice squad. He spent three years with the team, becoming the starting strong safety by the time his contact ended earlier this year. Owens was the subject of interest from several teams, but he chose to sign with the Packers and he has made an impact in recent weeks, returning a fumble recovery for a touchdown in a statement win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.
And Biles has embraced the move, with her social media timeline filled with Packers-related content, including an adorable post immediately after Owens’ signature moment on Thanksgiving. She wrote: “THATS MY HUSBAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY MANS MY MANS MY MANSSSSS LFGGGGGGOOOOOOO,” receiving almost 100,000 likes on X.
