This is the moment a prison escapee dressed as Santa Claus was arrested by police in Brazil.
The man, who has not been named by local police, had been wanted by the authorities and considered a fugitive from justice since his escape from Guareí Penitentiary in the interior of São Paulo in 2018.
He had been convicted previously been convicted of armed robbery.
When police arrested the Santa he was found to be in possession of a knife and cash.
Upon approaching the man, the police discovered the knife and around 100 dollars (in Brazilian currency) in bills and coins inside his Santa Claus-themed backpack.

Confiscated money and a weapon were seized - and the man was taken to the 7th Police District of Santos.
The on-duty detective filed a report, and the fugitive was held at the disposal of the justice system.
The State Secretariat of Public Security of São Paulo confirmed the arrest of the fugitive, and the case was officially registered at the Central Police Station in Santos.
