Sandra Bullock is allegedly 'devastated' that The Blind Side has been 'tainted' with Michael Oher's accusations against his family.

Sandra Bullock is allegedly "heartbroken" by the recent claims The Blind Side might have been based on a lie.

Retired NFL player Michael Oher, the real-life subject of the 2009 film which earned Bullock an Oscar, filed a lawsuit claiming his adoptive parents never legally adopted him.

The football star alleged that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy (who Bullock played in the movie) conned him into signing a document that made them his conservators.

Oher says the document allowed them to profit off him - including from the much-loved film.

In the film, Leigh Anne takes a homeless 17-year-old Oher (Quinton Aaron) in before helping him become an American football player.

A source close to Bullock, 59, told the Daily Mail that she "hates" that all her hard work on the movie, which she thought to be a true story, has been "tainted."

The insider added: "She hates that such a wonderful story, a spectacular movie, and a spectacular time in her life now has been tainted. Now people won't watch it and if they do, they will have a completely different reaction to its original intention."

The source explained that there was "so much hard work put into the film that they all thought was the truth."

Now everything is being questioned.

The source said: "It just upsets Sandra to no end that a time in her life that was so special, is now shadowed with a completely different perspective."

Some have called for Bullock to be "stripped of her Oscar," but her fans have hit back.

While the Tuohy family have disputed Oher's claims, saying he was too old to legally adopt, some people have attacked Bullock instead.

One wrote: "If the Michael Oher allegations are true then we have to go AND TAKE THE OSCAR back from Sandra Bullock and give it to Gabourey Sidibe for 'Precious.'"

Quinton Aaron, who starred as Oher in the $300 million film, jumped to Bullock's aid along with her followers.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, the 39-year-old actor said: "She gave a brilliant performance. And that shouldn't be tarnished for something that had nothing to do with her."

Quinton also told DailyMail.com: "I heard some pretty disturbing things people were saying about her, and I'm not behind that. Leave her alone.

"Don't come for my mama. I'm six-foot-eight, 400-plus pounds, and you don't want those problems."

The source told the Daily Mail that The Proposal star was "really not giving much of her attention" to the comments.
