Ronda Rousey breaks silence on AEW rumors and offers UFC 300 hint

Ronda Rousey made her Ring of Honor debut last month to further fuel rumors about joining that promotion's parent company AEW or finally returning to the UFC.

Ronda Rousey insists she is not joining All Elite Wrestling (AEW) anytime soon despite debuting on Ring of Honor last month. She has also downplayed returning to the UFC, who last fought in late 2018.

Rousey, 36, left WWE for a second time this summer and remains a free agent. After hinting in October that she had retired from wrestling, Rousey has since fought on the independent circuit at Lucha VaVoom, ROH and Wrestling Revolver events.

Across all those nights, she has teamed with close friend and fellow former WWE superstar Marina Shafir. Those two previously lived together in Venice, California, training at Glendale Fighting Club, and also share similar judo backgrounds. However, none of that seems enough to tempt Rousey into joining Shafir at AEW.

While walking the streets of Los Angeles, Rousey answered questions from TMZ about her future. Asked about coming to AEW anytime soon, she replied: "No, no, I don't think so."

Rousey explained that she is "just trying to be home with the family and be a full-time mom. Asked taking up any other acting roles, she reiterated it is "just full-time mom stuff" concerning her for the foreseeable future.

That includes bringing up her 2-year-old daughter La'akea alongside her husband and fellow retired fighter Travis Browne. She also has two teenage stepsons, Kaleo and Keawe, from his first marriage.

Rousey's boys both play football and, as was shared on social media in March, have scholarship offers to play Division 1 college football at the University of Hawai’i. Kaleo plays at Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, CA, while Keawe is at Centennial High School in Corona, CA.

Her sons playing football came up in the impromptu TMZ interview, too. It was prompted by Rousey saying she "wouldn't stop" either of them or her young daughter from getting into UFC or wrestling if they wanted to pursue that.

Asked if any of them had shown an interest in combat sports, she acknowledged the "boys are more into football" than fighting. She then declined to share who their favorite teams were after being questioned whether either were Kansas City Chiefs fans, but Rousey did divulge when pressed that they do not root for the same team.

As she slows down with her sporting career, it seems they will continue that legacy from Rousey and their father. "I don’t think it’s fully set in for me," Browne posted on Instagram on March 23.

"Both boys got offers from @rainbowwarriorsfootball such a #prouddad moment I probably brought it up to my wife 20 times yesterday saying how proud I am of these two.

"The journey has been fun so far. But, the best part of the journey lies ahead! Time to get to work boys!! Stay focused!! Love you!"
