Ron DeSantis insisted that he does not wear hidden high heels inside his boots in a podcast released Monday.

The Florida Governor sat down with podcaster Patrick Bet-David who showed the Republican hopeful images from a viral TikTok video picturing his boots stating: “Tell me he's not wearing hidden heels.”

In the video, TikToker Spamellina sketched the shape of high heels over DeSantis’s boots suggesting he was wearing secret height boosters. The video then showed a picture of women’s wedges for comparison.

Bet-David explained to the Governor: “OK, what they're trying to say with this is that in your boots you have heels.”

However, DeSantis defended his choice of footwear denying the bizarre theory.

He said: “No, no, no those are just standard, off the rack Lucchese.”

DeSantis then told Bet-David he was 5 foot 11 inches and said it was a “sign of strength” that people were poking fun at things like his boots instead of attacking him on political issues.

The Florida Governor was seen as Donald Trump’s biggest threat in the 2024 Republican Primary but has since flatlined in the polls.

The latest polling out of Iowa - the first Republican voting state - shows that Trump has 43 percent of the vote there while DeSantis and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley are tied in second with 16 percent each.

Despite the former president's legal woes - he has been charged with 91 felonies spanning four indictments - both Haley and DeSantis have an uphill battle ahead of them if they hope to unseat Trump.
