It's bad news for Rihanna fans - even if they did see it coming.

Reports that the singer has signed the dotted line for a multi-year contract with Live Nation are “bogus” a source has refuted.

According to various reports, the RnB hitmaker was reportedly planning a "major world tour through 2024 and 2025" as part of a $39 million (£32million) deal with Live Nation.

Speaking to Billboard, a "high-level source" shut down fans' hopes and dreams that their idol could make a return to the stage.

The insider, who would be involved in such the talks, maintained that the 32 million "figure sounds made up" and noted that “no tour has been confirmed for Rihanna".

While promoters like Live Nation, or their competitive rival AEG, would likely jump at the opportunity to book and promote a global superstar like Rihanna tour, the source went on to say the singer "hasn’t yet committed to any touring projects for 2024".

To further diminish the rumors, according to the publication, Live Nation has not yet placed any holds on venues for a potential tour.

Usually, when an entertainment company begins planning a tour for any major artist, they will call different venues on the tour route and ask venue bookers to reserve various dates in their calendars to accommodate different routing scenarios for an upcoming tour.

If this were to be the case for Rihanna and Live Nation, talks would likely take several months to hammer out a potential tour route.
