Fantasy football managers should look past Quentin Johnston's earlier struggles and recognize his potential for a strong finish to the 2023 NFL season.

Fantasy football owners must have short memories to succeed. Don't let a sour first impression of an NFL player create a permanent negative stance.

Some people may have developed an aversion to Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston because he struggled earlier this season. However, Johnston could still provide crucial fantasy football value off waivers entering Week 15. Forgive, forget and then reap the benefits.

Beyond Johnston, there are two running backs and a tight end who might also fly under the radar on waivers this week as the fantasy football playoffs begin.

Below, Express Sports US lists some of the sneakiest fantasy football waiver wire pickups heading into Week 15 of the NFL season, as defined by sub-35 ownership percentage...

Quentin Johnston, WR, LAC - 27.8 percent owned

The Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver now has back-to-back games with at least 10 PPR fantasy points for the first time in his career. He also set a personal best with 91 receiving yards on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

It's been a tumultuous rookie season for Quentin Johnston, though his final numbers could wind up looking respectable. He has a real chance of 500 yards - a perfectly fine figure for a first-year pro thrust into a more prominent role than the Chargers envisioned when they took him in the first round.

As Los Angeles comes to terms with missing the playoffs, the injury-riddled team will likely give Johnston all the snaps he can handle. He's less risky than he felt a few weeks ago, and it's a strong bet that he'll reach double-digit PPR points again this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Ty Chandler, RB, MIN - 23.8 percent owned

Ty Chandler has been sharing backfield touches with Alexander Mattison but could take sole possession of the role after Mattison sprained an ankle against Las Vegas. Chandler's value relies on Mattison missing time, so keep an eye on the injury reports this week when considering whether to add the 25-year-old.

Brevin Jordan, TE, HOU - 9.5 percent owned

The Houston Texans can't catch a break. A week after Tank Dell sustained a season-ending injury, fellow wide receiver Nico Collins went down.

The depleted receiving corps needs someone to step up, and Brevin Jordan seems most likely to take the lead following consecutive games with at least three catches and 30 yards. He's quick for a tight end, able to turn upfield for chunk gains after making grabs. He's also built chemistry with quarterback C.J. Stroud and will hope the signal-caller can return from a head injury next weekend.

Chase Brown, RB, CIN - 1.4 percent owned

Chase Brown might be a hot commodity on the waiver wire this week after a massive performance against the Indianapolis Colts. Brown registered 19.5 PPR points, while teammate Joe Mixon struggled to impress.

The rookie's sprint speed was particularly impressive, and given Mixon's lack of burst, he has a clear path to regular touches for the rest of the campaign. Do keep in mind that Mixon will still probably see most goal-line carries. Still, Brown has the explosiveness to take any screen pass the distance, meaning the touchdown potential remains.
