Now that summer has come to a close, it’s the “busy season” for royals, and Princess Kate is ready with her new do and updated wardrobe. Kate had yet another royal engagement this week, traveling just down the road from her Windsor home to Vsi Razom Community Hub in Bracknell.

She met up with a group of young Ukranians to help pack parcels of food and clothing to send to the Ukraine for people who have been affected by the war. She helped assemble the care packages and even included a handwritten note on one of the boxes.

In a photo from the event, Kate approaches the community center, and we can see she has a bit of a strut. It’s a still photo, but even so, there is definitely some pep in her step. And, it’s not just us, body language expert Judi James agrees: “Here she walks up clutching the flowers but no bag to act as any sort of barrier.”

James makes a good point about the lack of bag, it definitely creates an openness.

James also commented on how her demeanor matches up with her fall refresh, adding: “Kate’s body language and facial expressions here are very much in keeping with her newer, more assertive appearances.”

Kate is known to to put others at ease, which James comments on: “Her mouth forms an open smile of greeting and the effect of these behaviors would be both immersive, as she ducks right down to chat, and it would create feelings of confidence in the people and children she is meeting”

James sees an overall change in Kate, which has been more gradual, adding: “She no longer hangs back to be hosted and shown around, and her stride and pace suggests determination and keenness.”

Kate helped with the packing and wrote a note on one of the boxes: “We are all thinking of you.” She did not sign her name as it could result in forgery. The packages will be taken back to the Ukraine and distributed to those in need.

James sums up the importance of Kate’s contribution to the event: “She’s making them feel important and listened to here rather than visiting as a more distanced royal.”

In February 2023, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to the UK to meet with King Charles. According to Express UK, the two talked over tea, with Charles saying to Zelensk: “We’ve all been worried about you and thinking about your country for so long, I can’t tell you.”

Following the visit, in May 2023, Zelensky shared his well-wishes for Charles and the UK, saying during his nightly video address: "I wish King Charles III many years of a successful reign and to the people of the United Kingdom prosperity and our shared victories.”
