Prince William and Prince Harry may be able to reconcile: ‘I think he misses Harry’

The princes have been feuding for six year and counting. It appears to be taking a toll on Prince William, according to royal biographer.

Prince William and Prince Harry have been feuding since 2018 and their relationship seems to be getting worse. Just recently, the Daily Express US reported on Prince William and Kate Middleton harboring ill will over Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare.

Even so, The Palace Papers author Tina Brown thinks there is hope for the two to make amends.

Brown talks about the impact the rift is having on William, saying in an episode of Royally Obsessed: "I think people have really underestimated how tough it is for William. I don’t think he looks very happy, quite honestly. I think he misses Harry, despite the racket between them."

he also talks about the relationship the princes once had, saying: “These two, they were the only people who knew what it was like to be them. And in the end, Harry was the only person who could talk to William absolutely as a peer.

"Everybody else is subservient. There is nobody else who understands what it’s like to be William...except Harry.”

According to the New York Post, Harry tried to meet William halfway, saying, “He and Meghan are offering to rent an apartment at Kensington Palace and furnish it themselves.

He hopes that will please William and show that they’re serious about coming back. Harry doesn’t want to become a prisoner of the palace.”

Over the weekend, it was announced that if Harry would like to stay on royal grounds he’s expected to give advance notice. This may throw a wrench into his plans.

A truce may not be happening any time soon, but there are plenty who are cheering for the brothers to make up. Royal expert and former BBC journalist Michael Cole told the Express in July 2023: ”It has to end. The bitter battle between the royal Princes cannot go on forever. The best way William and Harry could honor the memory of their mother (Princess Diana) would be to bury their differences right now.”

Talk TV’s Royal Editor Sarah Hewson isn’t as optimistic, saying, “The damage, the wounds are so deep it’s gonna take an awful lot and an awful long time to heal those wounds.”

Yes, William and Harry are brothers, but they were also friends at one point. Adam Smiley Poswolksy, author of Friendship in the Age of Loneliness, talks about mending a friendship, saying, “Beginning the communication repair from a place of gratitude and positivity is going to make the conversation a lot more meaningful.

Even if there is still tension and even if you still need to take a friendship pause, or even a long (or permanent) break from spending time together, that appreciation will go a long way to building empathy and mutual understanding.”
