Britney Spears set to wipe out Royal rival Prince Harry's record in battle of the books

As Britney Spears' The Woman In Me continues to dominate, it looks set to beat the record of Prince Harry's Spare within weeks.

It looks like Prince Harry could lose the top spot to the Princess of Pop.

The Duke of Sussex dropped his bombshell memoir, Spare, earlier this year on January 10 and it certainly sent shockwaves around the world.

The controversial book discussed a series of allegations from spats with his British Royal family to the infamous "Megxit".

Harry's Spare, set a new Guinness World Record after its release as the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever, with release day sales exceeding 1.4 million copies.

But now it looks like a certain someone has slashed the record from his grasp.

After the release of her equally explosive memoir The Woman In Me on October 24, Britney Spears took to Instagram to celebrate the success she has received off of the back of its release.

Along with a picture of the front cover of her book, Britney gushed: "My book is the highest selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1 !!! Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive !!! Love you all"

Much like Price Harry's book, the Toxic hitmaker dropped a series of shock revelations.

She claimed that had an abortion in the early noughties after she and her boyfriend at the time Justin Timberlake agreed they were "too young to be parents," to even claims directed at her father Jamie Spears, who she said "fat shamed" her.

The audiobook version was also released the same day, which notably was narrated by Oscar-nominated actress, Michelle Williams.

However, the singer did record a small portion of the book and avoided narrating chapters discussing her family issues due to the content being "too painful to retell," TMZ reported earlier this month.

If Britney's latest memoir release has become the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history, this could mean she has taken the top spot away from Prince Harry.

While it has not yet been revealed how many copies Britney has sold, she would have had to have sold over an eyewatering 1.4 million copies to wipe Harry's record.
