Prince Harry warned he needs to 'play by Charles' rules' to be included in family events

It's believed, King Charles and Prince Harry are not on speaking terms, that they communicate with representatives. We asked an expert if there is any chance of reconciliation.

When Prince Harry resigned as a working royal, he lost some of the perks, like security, which is paid for by taxes. And, he lost some of the perks as a family member, like the welcome mat being laid out when he shows up to Windsor Castle.

We reached out to royal author, Kinsley Schofield, to ask if she thinks King Charles will offer Harry an olive branch, to make his son's next trip home a little easier, with Schofield expressing some apprehnehsion on the matter.

Kinsey isn't all that confident about the two making amends, and if it does happen, it would be up to Harry.

Harry has been asked to provide advance notice, if he'd like to stay at a royal property. Kinsey doesn't see a problem wiht that: "I think it's fair for the royal family to ask for a heads-up when Prince Harry wants to use one of their venues. Harry not giving them appropriate warning is just him being stubborn and secretive. If Harry wants to utilize their perks, then he needs to play by their rules."

Both Harry and Prince William are hosting events today as part of World Mental Health Day. They are both equally passionate about the cause, says Kinsey: "I believe that both the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Sussexes want to raise awareness for mental health resources. The cause is both safe and admirable. I also think it's genuine and likely stems from their mother, Princess Diana's own mental health insecurities."

But, they handle themsevles much differently, which Kinsey expands on:

"From a PR perspective, Prince William and the Princess of Wales seem much more credible in the mental health space. They are discreet and there is a sense of stability in all they do."

"Watching Harry and Meghan's brand unravel through content that they actively participated in and monetized has hurt their credibility tremendously. The Sussexes are two people that seem like they are only out for themselves with shallow pursuits."

Kinsey goes one step further, bringing up the late Queen and how Harry hurt his grandmum's feelings: "Were they considering the Queen's mental health when they sat down to talk to Oprah or Netflix? Was Harry considering William's mental health when he wrote Spare? Their actions rarely match their words. They look like hypocritical opportunists."

Harry and Meghan are currently in NYC. They made a trip to Brooklyn to visit The Marcy Lab School this morning, reports PEOPLE,  and then hosted a summit as part of Project Healthy Minds’ all-day festival of events at Hudson Yards in Manhattan.
