Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 'on their best behavior' while in New York City

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in NYC this week, making this their first time back to the Big Apple since their May visit, which ended in conflict. It's predicted they will approach this trip differently, says royal expert.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are in NYC this week for a work event. Based on how their May visit came to an end, it’s predicted they will handle things differently this time around.

The Sussexes are hosting a summit for World Health Day on Tuesday, October 10 at 1:30PM EST. The talk, entitled The Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age, is part of Project Healthy Minds’ all-day festival at Hudson Yards in Manhattan.

Harry and Meghan were in NYC this past May, sightseeing and enjoying the nightlife. But, as a result, there was some drama, with the royal couple claiming to be chased by paparazzi for two hours straight and comparing it to what happened with Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, which ended in tragedy.

To Di For Daily host Kinsey Schofield predicts that the Sussexes will pull back on socializing and conduct themselves in a more reserved manner this time around.

Schofield has a good idea of how the trip will go.

She said: “Expect Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be coy and on their best behavior this visit to NYC. No knockout gold dress and Cheshire cat grins. I expect tame clothing, sunglasses, and keeping their heads down with subtle polite waves to acknowledge any fans. Harry will try to appear friendly vs. anxious, but Meghan might minimize her reaction to fans to avoid looking like she is encouraging too much attention.”

The royal author believes that Harry and Meghan will also keep a low profile after.

She added: “Harry and Meghan might grab dinner at a swanky hotel, but I doubt the Sussexes will stray far from where they plan on staying. I suspect that the Sussexes will stay at a hotel this trip vs. a friend's home to avoid the drama of trying to shake off photographers. Upscale hotels in NYC do offer private entrances for high-profile individuals. This would be an easy solution to some of the Sussexes' security concerns.”

Harry and Meghan were on the receiving end of some backlash for their comments in May, and Kinsey says they will "work to avoid a similar situation".

She has a hypothesis on why this happened: “The Sussexes surround themselves with a lot of yes people that seem to protect their lack of self-awareness and that doesn’t do them any favors.”

According to Hello! magazine, the Sussexes tend to stay at The Carlyle in NYC. The hotel does have a restaurant called Dowling's at The Carlyle.
