Pilot ranted about her divorce on intercom in epic meltdown after arriving two hours late

Having the pilot of your plane step out of the cockpit and proceed to rant about her divorce on the intercom is a nightmare - one that came true for passengers on a United Airlines flight from Austin to San Francisco.

A spate of epic plane meltdowns has gone viral over several months, even launching the influencer career of one woman who claimed another passenger was "not real".

The moment was posted online, sparking international curiosity. Now the woman has rebranded as an influencer with a glossy "empowerment" message.

Just weeks later, another video of a woman was posted to Twitter having a "demonic" meltdown on a plane, shouting and cursing. The video prompted one Twitter user to ask: "What is happening on planes?"

But plane meltdowns have been going viral for years, and one of the most shocking involved a pilot. The pilot was supposed to get passengers from Austin to San Francisco safely.

However, the woman turned up for the job two hours late, still wearing civilian clothing, and began a speech before the flight.

“I won’t fly the airplane,” she began, assuring passengers that the co-pilot would fly it instead.  She then asked passengers to vote on whether or not they could take off with her dressed as is or give her time to change into her “cute little uniform.”

According to a passenger who gave a statement to Inside Edition, the female pilot talked about her divorce and political candidates. The latter seemed like the last straw for some. Passenger Randy Reiss stood up and told her: “You’re scaring me.”

He was one of the first to leave the aircraft. Later, he tweeted out:

“I’m shaking right now. The captain demonstrated that she was not mentally in a safe space.”

As more people started getting up and wanting to get off the plane, the announcement to disarm doors came over the loudspeaker to make this possible.

About 20 passengers in total disembarked in the incident after the pilot herself proclaimed: “If you don’t feel safe, get off…”

The woman was removed from her duties after the whole scene went down.
