Pat Sajak shades Paula Abdul over her ‘lack of awards’ on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune

Pat Sajak didn't seem to care if he offended contestant Paula Abdul during Wesnesday's episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. 

The host of the famous ABC game show threw major shade at the singer and dancer for her "lack of awards" in a blunt exchange.

He mentioned she'd not yet secured a coveted EGOT status - meaning wins at the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards shows. 

During the episode, the American Idol judge battled comic Lil Rel Howery and actor Matt Rogers.

The dig at Paula happened when the spotlight hit the Hollywood celebrity, 61, during the interview segment, and Pat, 77, couldn't resist.

"Paula Abdul is here!" he announced.

However, he didn't wait to deliver his low blow, adding immediately after: "Let's do the awards; you've won yourself a couple of Grammys right? A couple of Emmys."

Then he went too far: "No Tonys?"

Paula was visibly upset at the mention at her lack of Tony awards.

"Not yet!" she shot back, trying to keep her cool.

Undeterred by the shading, Paula did a kick dance move that had Pat in stitches.

Trying to diffuse the tension, Pat turned back to the audience.

He declared: "By the way, the most impressive thing you'll see in the next hour is Paula's leg kicks. It really is - uh - frightening."

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time Pat has thrown shade at his celebrity contestants.

Last week, he took a dig at Lauren Lapkus during another Wheel of Fortune interview, and went so far as to question her fame.

"When you do a lot of guest appearances, you must get that look like, 'Why do I know you?'" Pat asked.

Lauren responded that she often plays along with fans who think they know her from somewhere, specifically high school.

She explained: "I'll let it go on for a long time because I don't wanna - what if we did, you know? And then I'm like being rude saying, 'I'm an actor.'"

Pat replied with a sassy hand wave, suggesting fans might ask her to "list her credits," only to shut her down with a casual: "No, I didn't see that."

It's unclear why Pat has been especially brutal with his contestants.
