After beating Oppenheimer during last weekend's ticket sale success, Cillian Murphy admits he'd be up for playing a "new Ken" in Barbie.

Clearly hoping for a spin-off following its roaring $300million launch at the box office, the J. Robert Oppenheimer actor said the Greta Gerwig flick was "great".

Despite losing the Barbenheimer battle, Oppenheimer still brought in $80.5million domestically and $165million globally, per Deadline.

Starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the pink-perfect movie clearly caught the attention of Murphy – who appears to be eyeing up a new job.

In an interview with Cinefilos, the atomic bomb creator actor revealed he'd be up for a "conversation" with Gerwig for any upcoming installment.

After being asked if he'd consider playing a "new Ken" in a sequel, Murphy replied: "Hey, you know, sure.

"Yeah, let's read the script. Let’s have a conversation."

On Barbie, he added: "I can’t wait to see the movie.

"I think it’s great for cinema. You know, we’ve got all these great movies happening this summer."

According to the estimates, figures suggest Barbie is the second biggest opening of all time – beaten by Avengers: Endgame in 2019 with $357million.

It has been crowned the biggest opening this year, shadowing Super Mario Bros.' $146.4million.

Numbers imply that Barbenheimer's $465million combined weekend is the biggest box office weekend of all time.

Barbie was also crowned the number one for ticket sales of any opening weekend this year, bringing in $70.5million - while Oppenheimer generated $33million.

Other records Barbie broke include the largest grossing day of the year, the largest opening weekend for a movie based on a toy and the largest non‐sequel, non‐remake film released in July.
