Olivia Rodrigo's ex Zach Bia denies Vampire is about him but fans think differently

Olivia Rodrigo is known for her hit breakup songs, with Vampire spending the last nine weeks in the Billboard 100.

As the song took off, many fans began to speculate about who the song was about, with many talking about her short-lived romance with Zach Bia last year.

The DJ has had a string of high-profile girlfriends including Olivia, Madison Beer, and Madelyn Cline.

However, Zack has spoken out in a new interview claiming the song cannot be about him, due to their relationship not being serious enough to write songs about.

He said to GQ: "I don’t think it’s really about me. I think the Internet just ran with it.

"We hung out, we’re both busy, and we ended up not furthering our relationship. There was never any drama, you know?"

Despite claiming the pair ended on good terms, Bia claims the song could be about a composite character rather than one specific person, which he could have had a part in creating.

He explained: "Look, I’m in the industry so I know how a song gets made. The song’s so big and so awesome.

"Look, a heartbreak song for the summertime, it’s an undefeated formula."

Although Bia insists the song is not about him, several social media users have pointed out several lyrics that coincide with the pair's romance.

Many social medias took to Twitter to share their thoughts on who of Olivia's famous exes Vampire is about.

@Hapoo111 said: "Vampire actually makes me think Zach Bia has to be the worst boyfriend of all time."

@MileyRaySIay added: "So we all agree that Olivia obviously wrote vampire about Zach bia, right?"

@Openkillsgirl commented: "Just found out after listening to Vampire for the 200th time that its about her ex Zach bia because in the song she said six months of toucher got me so i searched up how long they dated lookie who we have a match six months." (sic)

The song also includes references to their seven-year age gap, the DJ's active nightlife, and the timeline of their fling.

At the beginning of the song, Rodrigo refers to the relationship as "six months of torture" which is how long her romance with Bia lasted.

Then in the second verse, she questions why an older man would want to date someone so young before realizing that "girls your age know better".

Olivia is currently 20-years-old, while Zach is 27-years-old.

The estranged couple was first linked in February 2022 after a source told E! News that they had been "seeing each other".

However, it drowned out just six months later, with the whirlwind romance coming on the heels of Rodrigo’s relationship with Adam Faze, who fans also suspected could have inspired the hit.

In July 2021, Rodrigo and Faze, 26, confirmed they were dating by sharing a steamy kiss while out and about in Los Angeles.

This soured by the beginning of 2023, with Olivia cutting all digital ties to her ex by unfollowing both his personal and professional accounts on Instagram.
