NSYNC 'to reunite at VMAs tonight' for first time in 10 years

The MTV Video Music Awards are being held tonight at New Jersey's Prudential Center - with Justin Timberlake and co reportedly making a comeback.

90s icons NSYNC are reportedly set to reunite tonight for the first time in 10 years.

According to TMZ, the band will be giving out an award as a surprise addition to tonight's line-up at MTV's Video Music Awards.

The band - consisting of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone - have not performed together publicly since the VMAs in 2013.

The news comes after it was reported the band have been working together for a new track for movie Trolls: Band Together.

It's believed all the band members will be voicing characters in the film, and will perform a song on the soundtrack.

It will be the first new music the band have made together since 2001.

It will be the first new music the band have made together since 2001.

Their final album, Celebrity, broke records at the time of its release, however in 2002 the group temporarily called a hiatus so Timberlake could focus on his solo music.

Due to his success, the band never recorded new music again - until last month.

Instagram videos from the band members showed them back in the studio together - starting the rumors they would be back for a new song.

Since then speculation has spanned from a 'one-off' for the sake of Trolls Band Together, to a full-blown reunion tour.

Currently there has been no confirmation about what any of the plans are - though there have been persistent teasers online about what the future might hold for the group.

In one case, promotional posters for Trolls Band Together in New York had a QR code to a never-before-heard track, which is believed to be NSYNC's new song.

The posters also had the iconic 'N' from the band's logo.
