Nickelodeon star surprises Masked Singer fans with appearance two years after guilty plea

After taking to the stage as Baby Alien, Drake Bell shocked viewers with his real identity when he was eliminated from The Masked Singer Mexico.

The Drake and Josh star featured in the singing competition known as ¿Quién es la máscara?

After he was met with roars of applause and praise, he took to Instagram to thank show bosses for inviting him to the fifth season.

In Spanish, Drake wrote: “Thank you very much [producers Cuquis Razo and Fox Muller Miguel Angel] for inviting me to participate in this show!

“This was so much fun! Thank you very much for your support!!!”

This comes just two years after the Nickelodeon star pleaded guilty to “attempted endangering of children and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.”

In court, the victim then 19-years-old claimed Drake exchanged explicit photos online and engaged in sexual conduct with her on several occasions, including at a 2017 concert venue in Cleveland and a hotel.

The actor was sentenced to two years of probation on child endangerment charges and 200 hours of community service for his conduct with the young fan.

In a video, Drake addressed his fans and explained why he pleaded guilty to the charges which he insisted were “entirely false and wrong.”

He stated: “I know that this has moved very quickly for you, but for me, it's been a three-year, thorough investigation into every false claim that has been made.

“And, it's not me telling you that the claims are false, but the state of Ohio has proven the claims to be false.

“If these claims were remotely true, my situation would be very different. I would not be here at home with my wife and my son.”

At the time, the 37-year-old also acknowledged his interactions were “reckless and irresponsible,” and claimed he was “unaware” of her age and only communicated with her via text messages without any physical contact.
