Nick Cannon has weighed in on the most recent controversy sweeping through Hollywood as Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, entered her feud with Cardi B.

The 45-year-old reportedly violated his probation by sending threatening messages to Cardi B’s husband, Offset, in a social media clip filmed outside of the MTV Video Music Awards

On Nick’s radio show, The Daily Cannon, the 42-year-old’s co-host, Courtney Bee Bledsoe, revealed the news and declared: “We not saying his name. We calling this man Nicki Minaj’s husband.”

Nick seemed to agree as he explained: “I believe what Courtney is saying is that he is tarnishing the brand.”

The comedian was referring to Nicki’s hard-earned music career as her name has become intrinsically tied to both her award-winning tracks and now her husband’s scandal.

As he shared a clip from the show on Instagram, highlighting pivotal moments in their debate on the topic, Nick started berating Kenneth, arguing that he wasn’t a true “street dude” for one simple reason.

He explained: “Street dudes didn’t even get on the phone. Real gangstas move in silence!

“You’re standing on the corner of a block outside the VMAs. If you a street dude…be a street dude! Don’t be on the internet!

“I’m all for keeping it street, but keep it street smart.”

As they moved on to Kenneth’s “punishment”, which is 120 days of house arrest, Courtney and Nick argued that his true punishment would come from his wife.

Courtney jokingly declared that if she had to “babysit” her spouse at home for 120 days he’d become a “housewife”, doing all of the chores.

In between fits of laughter, Nick added another suggestion: “No TV for you for 120 days!”

The father-of-12 isn’t the only A-lister to weigh in on the situation, with radio personality Charlamagne tha God dubbing Kenneth the “Donkey of the Day”.

While the Super Freaky Girl has spoken out about her husband’s house arrest, simply telling fans on Instagram: “Can't call the cops every time you flop. Just saying.” and “swatting a home with a baby isn't a felony,” she has largely focused on promoting her latest album, Pink Friday 2 which is set to be released in mid-November.

Petty and Minaj have been together since 2018, and together they have a son who they have not publicly named.

The singer's often been forced to defend her husband's character online, as he is a convicted sex offender and pleaded guilty for first-degree manslaughter after killing a man named Lamont Robinson in 2002.

He went to prison for both offences.

In March 2020, he found himself in trouble again after moving to California and failing to register himself as a sex offender.

He faced up to 10 years in prison for not doing so, but in July 2022, Petty was sentenced to a year of house arrest and three years of probation and a $55,000 fine.

His comments to Offset violated the probation's clauses.
