A new poll shows that President Joe Biden's approval rating has plummeted while Donald Trump's support is rising ahead of the 2024 election.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating has plummeted while support for Donald Trump is rising as the 2024 presidential election looms, a new poll shows.

According to the Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday, Americans’ views of Biden are getting worse due to his handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

The same topic has given Trump his first lead in the poll since February.

Thirty-seven percent of voters said they approved of Biden’s job performance, while 59 percent said they disapproved.

Concerning the war in the Middle East, only 37 percent of voters said they approved of Biden’s response, while 54 percent said they disapproved.

Meanwhile, Trump holds more support than Biden in terms of favorability, with 42 percent having a favorable view of Trump and 55 percent an unfavorable one.

A hypothetical 2024 matchup shows Trump leading Biden 48 percent to 46 percent, though recent polls show him trailing behind Biden.

Trump also still led with independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. in the mix, leading with 38 percent support, followed by Biden at 37 percent and Kennedy at 21 percent.

Trump is also the overwhelming frontrunner in the race for the Republican presidential nomination with 64 percent support.

He is followed by Ron DeSantis with 16 percent, Nikki Haley with 9 percent, Vivek Ramaswamy with 4 percent, Chris Christie with 2 percent, and Doug Burgum with 1 percent.

Biden has received 74 percent support for the Democrat presidential nomination.
