The shocking footage shows severely burned survivors begging for help at Mount Marapi, Indonesia on Sunday.

In a heart-wrenching clip shared by her family, 19-year-old Zhafirah Zahrim Febrina can be seen speaking on the phone after being rushed to hospital.

She pleads: "Mum, help Ife. This is Ife's situation right now."

Her mom, Rani Radelani, 39, revealed her daughter is not only in physical pain but also mentally scarred from seeing her own burns.

Radelani said: "She is going through a tremendous trauma. She is affected psychologically because she saw her burns, and she also had to endure the pain all night."

Another video shows a young girl, identified as 20 year old Yashirli, covered in thick dirt and ash.

The bodies of 11 climbers were found on Monday, but efforts to move them were hampered by ongoing volcanic activity, according to Abdul Malik, head of West Sumatra's Search and Rescue Agency.

Around 75 climbers had begun their ascent of the nearly 2,900-metre (9,480-foot) mountain on Saturday and became stranded.

Authorities managed to save 52 people, including three on Monday. Eight of those rescued on Sunday were rushed to hospital with burns and one had a broken limb, according to Hari Agustian, an official at the local Search and Rescue Agency in Padang, the West Sumatra provincial capital.

All of the climbers had registered at two command posts or online through West Sumatra's conservation agency before they started their climb, Agustian explained.

When asked about the total number of people who might be stranded, he said it couldn't be confirmed because some may have taken illegal routes up the mountain and residents could have been also in the area.

Marapi spewed thick columns of ash as high as 9,800 feet in Sunday's eruption and hot ash clouds spread for several miles.

Nearby villages and towns were covered by tons of volcanic debris. Volcanic dust and rain smeared the faces and hair of evacuated climbers, according to a video on social media.

Falling ash covered several villages and blocked sunlight, and authorities handed out masks while urging residents to wear eyeglasses to protect them from volcanic ash.

About 1,400 people live on Marapi's slopes in Rubai and Gobah Cumantiang, the nearest villages about 5 to 6 kilometers from the peak.
