Miesha Tate is open to a rematch with Holly Holm at UFC 300 in April next year after boss Dana White hinted at making a "super fight". Tate, 37, defeated Holm for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship via submission in their 2016 meeting.

Despite walking away with the belt, Tate is keen to re-write the story as people believe up until the submission, that she was getting beaten. Tate won her last outing earlier this month against Julia Avila and says barring a bad MRI scan, fighting Holm next April is a real possibility.

"I think it's a great time," Tate said on the MMA Hour. She added: "I think that [April] sounds reasonable. I think that sounds reasonable. I did get a little bit of an injury leaving that fight - I've got to get an MRI and check myself out and make sure.

"But if it's not very severe - which I've been walking around and I think I'm alright I think I'll be okay - if I can do that then I think Holly would be a fantastic one. That's another one that bothers me actually, because people still think, for some reason, that I was just getting my ass kicked in that fight."

Holm has previously stated that she wants to avenge her loss to Tate when her rival is in better form. Tate has won just two of her last six fights, while Holm has won three and lost two.

"It’s one of those things, too, where I would love to avenge that loss, but with that being said, I also don’t want to do it just to do it,” Holm told MMA Fighting last year. “I only want to do it if it makes sense. So if she loses and then goes to flyweight and she’s overdoing all this stuff, it doesn’t really make sense. I would want to fight her if she came back in and she’s on a win streak.

"I want to get the best of you. I don’t want to get what’s left or what’s different or what’s changed or anything like that. I would want to do it when it makes sense. When it’s a challenge when it’s something I want to do. Maybe in the future, it will work. Maybe she’ll get some wins under her belt and then it’s an exciting rematch. That makes sense to me.”

Tate vs. Holm 2 may not be the only blockbuster fight to take place at UFC 300. Conor McGregor could also make his long-awaited return following his horror leg break in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021.

Ultimate Fighter rival Michael Chandler is The Notorious' proposed opponent. “From everything that I’ve been hearing, the first quarter of 2024 is when the [ Conor McGregor] fight will be happening,” he told TMZ. “He can’t run forever."
