Meghan Markle suffers awkward microphone mishap at Kevin Costner's special fundraiser
Meghan Markle was reportedly left red-faced when she took to the stage at Kevin Costner's star-studded fundraiser in Santa Barbara last week.
Meghan Markle, alongside her husband Prince Harry, attended Kevin Costner's One805 Live! Fundraiser last week and were introduced as special guests.
The Duchess of Sussex then reportedly saw the female host who had introduced her coming towards her, with Meghan walking on the stage and reaching out to take her microphone.
This was seemingly to say a few words, but the host failed to hand the microphone over.
The former Suits actress quickly realized her mistake and awkwardly moved to the left of the stage.
After finding their spot, another host offered the microphone to Prince Harry but he appeared to wave it away.
After recovering from the awkward moment, Meghan presented Kevin with an honorary award.
The clip, posted on Santa Barbara Magazine's Instagram account, shows the royals beaming as they took center stage, followed by audience cheers.
The infamous couple also received the same warm welcome at the Invictus Games in Germany last week.
The Duke and Duchess mingled with Hollywood royalty at the star-studded event, including Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia De Rossi, and Oprah Winfrey.

Opening the prestigious event, Costner began: "Good afternoon everyone, I get asked a lot by my friends who have no manners... 'Kev, what's this place cost, what's it worth?' I can just simply tell you on a day like today, it's worth every penny.
"We can celebrate people that you'd maybe never meet, the ones who are the first to rush in.
"It's a place where I've had a lot of good luck in my life and I try to not put a wall around it."
As the night unfolded, Harry revealed his dance moves while Meghan engaged in conversation with other attendees.
Maroon 5 headlined the Fall One805LIVE! Festival this year, with general admission tickets costing $350.
The event took place on Costner's 10.25-acre plot of land located down the road from his primary residence.
The house in question was at the center of the divorce dispute with his now ex-wife Christine Baumgartner.
Baumgartner filed for divorce in May citing "irreconcilable differences", and the pair have been involved in a bitter child support battle until recently.
