Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's characters have an awkward - and less-than-romantic - altercation in Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie.

Margot Robbie revealed how her fuming friends reacted after her character avoided locking lips with Ryan Gosling in the Barbie movie.

In one scene in Greta Gerwig's new blockbuster flick, Margot's Barbie and Ryan's Ken face each other in an extremely awkward moment.

Barbie appears to snub a snog with Ken, leaving Margot's real-life pals understandably upset.

Throughout the film, the two seemingly lack an on-screen spark, leaving Robbie's circle questioning the star after the major movie's release.

Speaking of the reaction in a new interview, Margot was asked if she was happy that she didn't "properly" kiss Ryan in the chart-topping flick.

She told PEOPLE: "Uh no! That didn't feel like a win for me!

"All of my girlfriends were like, 'Well you did a whole movie with him and you don't kiss? What's wrong with you? I thought you were kind of in charge on this one!'

"I was like, 'I know, I can't check that one off my list'."

Ryan responded: "It was so funny trying to figure out what their idea of kissing might be. I'm so glad all of that got cut out."

It comes after Robbie revealed playing a horrendous prank on her childhood babysitter as a teenager in the film's pre-release press.

"I was like, 16 and I thought she was so cool and then we got this much older lady in and I was just not happy about it and she told me to go and have a bath," she told the BBC.

"I didn’t want to... She was very cranky and I thought, 'I’m gonna show you'.

"I covered myself in ketchup and put the kitchen knife and I waited for like 45 minutes for her to find me. But it was worth the wait."
