Margot Robbie hits the SAG-AFTRA picket line just months after bonanza Barbie tour

Margot Robbie recently joined the SAG-AFTRA rally after starring in the highest grossing movie of the year, Barbie.

Margot Robbie may have starred in the biggest movie of the year, but she won’t let that stop her from supporting her fellow writers and actors.

The Barbie star was spotted at a recent SAG-AFTRA rally sporting a t-shirt and carrying a poster in support of the strike that is heading into its second month.

The Writers Guild of America began striking in May, followed by the union that represents actors, SAG-AFTRA, on July 14.

Both unions are seeing better wages for writers and actors, with streaming services being one of the main targets because they don’t pay residuals like traditional television networks despite shows and performances being viewed over and over again.

AI is another source of contention, with both unions hoping to get the AMPTP to agree not to use it to write scripts or replace actors.

Despite the ongoing saga, Margot appeared to be in a good mood as she joined the protest that marched from Netflix to Paramount studios.

She wore her signature blonde hair down, trendy sunglasses, chunky white sneakers and an oversized white SAG-AFTRA T-shirt.

Spotted directly behind her was Australian actress Samara Weaving in green shorts and a baseball cap.

While Margot remained tight-lipped at the protest, some of her fellow actors have not.

Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston gave a rousing speech when he hit the picket lines early on in the strike.

“We are not in the same business model that we were even 10 years ago,” Cranston said to the crowd.

“And yet, even though they admit that that is the truth in today’s economy, they are fighting us tooth and nail to stick to the same economic system that is outmoded, outdated. They want us to step back in time. We cannot and we will not do that.”

Other stars that have made public appearances on the picket lines include Florence Pugh, Jason Sudeikis, Jessica Chastain, and Kevin Bacon just to name a few.

Margot’s appearance comes on the heels of her performance in Barbie – the highest grossing movie of the year and in Warner Bros history.

To date the movie has made $1.36 billion since its release in July, taking the place of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, which earned $1.31 billion.
